PETER PERKINS – AUTHOR/NOVELIST

Peter was born in Miles on Queensland’s Western Darling Downs and lived in many Australian country towns and on numerous sheep and cattle properties during his years in the bush.

Peter is a true Aussie and his writing so accurately portrays the colours of the Australian bush, the resilience of the people, their lives and the towns and properties on which they live and die.

His stories bring to life true bush characters that can be seen in almost every bush town.

Having finished The Condamine Bell in late 2013 and ever self-reliant he became impatient waiting for Publishers to respond to his manuscript submissions and went down the very lonely rough road of self-publishing. During this long waiting period Peter wrote the explosive sequel, YELLOWBELLY and released it in 2015.

One of the earliest reviews to The Condamine Bell came from the celebrated Australian actor Carol Burns, who wrote;

  • "I have just finished The Condamine Bell. What a cracking yarn! It would make a great screenplay. The really solid characters leap off the page."

And he receives similar e-mails daily with such quotes as;

  • "Fabulous read, could not put it down"

  • "Love the characters, great plot, so believable"

  • "Heard there is a sequel, when can I have it?"

  • "Colours the Australian bush perfectly and should be made into a movie"

               By his own hand he has sold several hundred copies of both books and as the reviews are so positive he is taking up Carol Burns’ challenge by chancing his arm at Movie Script writing.

               These are both cracking good yarns and well worth having a signed copy on your shelves.
